The point of a survey is to give you an honest, evidence-based picture of what condition your roof is actually in — not to find a reason to sell you work you don't need — so you can make a genuinely informed decision, whether that's a targeted repair, a bigger piece of work, or simply confirmation that nothing needs doing right now. It's also the right first step before buying a property, before collecting quotes from multiple roofers to compare against, or any time you're not sure whether what you're looking at is serious.
